Paul M. Mannix Biography: Paul Mannix represents and counsels clients in a diverse range of legal matters, including construction law, commercial litigation, products liability and personal injury. Mr. Mannix provides consultation in contract review / negotiation and risk management matters. He has also had extensive experience in state and federal courts representing individuals, design professionals, contractors and other commercial entities in all stages of litigation. In 2006, 2007 & 2008, Mr. Mannix was named a Rising Star in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Magazine - a distinction granted to only 2.5% of Pennsylvania lawyers. He is the acting solicitor for the Borough of Patterson Heights, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.

Significant litigation matters he has handled include representing:

Civil engineering firm in an action by a surety to recover damages incurred by the surety following general contractor's default on the project. Surety claimed in excess of $5 million, allegedly resulting from misinformation in the contract documents.

General contractor in a multi-million dollar suit by developer of shopping center involving collapse and rebuild of a massive retaining wall as part of a site development project.

Architect in an action by excavation subcontractor alleging delay, disruption and constructive acceleration in the construction of a school building.

Architect sued by owner for EIFS failure and cost of refacing entire hotel designed by architect.

General contractor in suit by subcontractor's employee for severe injuries sustained in a three-story fall as a result of scaffolding collapse.

Municipal authority in suit by twenty home-owners claiming total loss of home values due to subsidence and soil collapse allegedly resulting from defective storm sewer system.

Tenants of a mall in suit against sprinkler system manufacturer and mall owner for total loss of inventory and store contents as a result of fire.

University sued by student for severe injuries sustained from falling from dormitory roof.

Mr. Mannix also presented at The ExecuSummit in New York City, speaking on Standard of Care Issues for Design Professionals. In addition, Mr. Mannix has frequently lectured to design professionals and other representatives in the construction industry throughout Western Pennsylvania.
